Towson, Maryland--The University of Towson Tigers (3-0) hosted the visiting Temple Owls (1-2) into their new SECU Arena on Thursday night. Towson toppled Temple in a come from behind win, 75-69, in front of a crowd of more than 3500 Tiger fans. Leading the way for the Tigers was All-American and 2012-13 CAA Player of the Year, Jerrelle Benimon. Benimon recorded his third 30 point scoring effort putting down a career high 32 points, and pulling down 10 rebounds. Helping the cause was Marcus Damas, who scored 16 points, while pulling down another 10 rebounds. The Tigers forced 16 turnovers while committing only seven. After the game, Towson Head Coach Pat Skerry said this about being 3-0. "We were fortunate to get a win tonight. We talk a lot about process and getting better everyday. We'll have another tough one on Sunday (at Villanova)." And that they will, as the Tigers will travel north into Pennsylvania to take on the Villanova Wildcats in a late afternoon game. Villanova will be coming off a win against Mount St. Mary's, 90-59.
